Paul H. Krebsbach, DDS, PhD

Associate Professor

Paul H. Krebsbach, DDS, PhD, is the Donald A. Kerr Collegiate Professor of Oral Pathology, Associate Professor of Dentistry and Associate Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. He currently serves as the Associate Chair of the Department of Oral Medicine, Pathology and Oncology. Dr Krebsbach received his D.D.S. degree from the University of Minnesota in 1987 and his certificate in Periodontology and Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Connecticut in 1993. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Michigan, he served as a Senior Staff Fellow for three years at the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Krebsbach has served on several local and national committees including the AADR William J. Gies Award Committee, the AADR Hatton Award Committee, the Scientific Advisory Boards for the 7th and 8th International Conferences on the Chemistry and Biology of Mineralized Tissues, the American Association for the Advancement of Science Electorate Nominating Committee of the Section on Dentistry and Oral Health Sciences and the NIH Special Grants Study Section Panel. He reviews manuscripts for several journals and is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He currently serves the University of Michigan on the Center for Gene Therapy Executive Committee, the Rackham Graduate School Rackham Divisional Board and several Dental School committees including the Executive Committee. His research program focuses on the cell and molecular biology of mineralized tissues with an emphasis on gene therapy-directed osteogenesis and bone marrow stromal cell biology.
